everyone has something to offer...
Sasang Medicine holds that each individual had their own unique path in life that, when discovered, can benefit not only themselves, but many others as well. As a preteen or teenager, social responsibility, continuous school assignments, and future insecurity can be overwhelming and/or outright damaging to a developing mind. Sasang Medicine builds confidence and strength through the discovery and knowledge of one's natural capabilities. It also gives your child the ability to accept and appreciate their own unique traits whether or not others around them can do so.

What is Sasang Medicine?
Sasang Medicine explains how we each are born with different stronger and weaker organ systems that correlate with physical and emotional tendencies. The Yin Type A, for example, is born with a weaker lung system, which makes them prone to sadness and a lack of self-worth. Many Yin Type A children suffer from a low self-image and bouts of depression. Deep breathing is often an effective remedy, especially if it is accompanied by constitutionally-specific foods and herbs to help along. A stronger liver system contributes to the Yin Type A's natural affinity towards creativity and joy, but neither can be achieved unless a balance is struck between their stronger and weaker organ systems. |
About Me
Hello! I'm your Sasang mentor, Dr. Gary Wagman - call me Gary. As a child, I was extremely quiet and introverted. A moment did not go by without feeling strange around others. I would often spend the days alone while my parents wondered what was going on with me. Rarely did this attitude make me lonely, but it definitely interfered with my ability to interact with others. Sasang Medicine taught me that my body type, born with a weaker spleen system - associated with social skills, contributed to my quiet and shy nature. My weaker spleen also contributed to a sluggish digestive system, causing a lack of appetite throughout my childhood. After getting to know my type and supplementing with herbs to warm and nourish my spleen and digestive system, I was able to develop a healthy appetite, enhance my social skills and use my quiet nature to help others find peace and quiet within themselves. The knowledge of my stronger kidney function - related to will power, motivated me to keep going and never give up on my dreams. I am now a doctor of psychology, doctor of Oriental Medicine, certified Sasang practitioner, motivational speaker and author, world traveler, and avid seeker of all that life has to offer. |
